Program for the day
Helen and her associate Emily McArdle have packed their toolkits for a Spring clean-up and will be in Melbourne on Monday 9 September 2019 . In response to feedback and requests since our first event in Sydney last April, this time we'll have two full day workshops for you to choose from.
Ticket sale has ended for this event.
Program Workshop 1: Purpose in Practice (Monday 9 September 9am-4.30pm)
Purpose at Work’s very own Yumi will kick off with the key principles and condition for building a purpose-driven environment. She will also discuss the areas where organisations transitioning to purpose-driven approaches make changes and what these changes look like in practice.
Helen will then take on processes we all love to hate (performance reviews and meetings) and let you experience how practical and purpose-driven alternatives can return joy and meaning to the workplace. She will also cover proven practices that create a workplace where people feel safe to be and show their whole self.
Sorry, but the first round of tickets for this Purpose in Practice session has run out. There is a waiting list as we look into the option of adding a few extra spots. Please contact us to get on the list.
Program Workshop 2: Values-based Recruitment (Monday 9 September 9am-4.30pm)
Values-based recruitment is about attracting and keeping people who have compatible values, attitudes and aspirations to work in a care, support or educational environment. This needs to happen much more in Australia and Emily, who leads the multi-award winning recruitment process at Wellbeing Teams, knows exactly how to make that happen!
During this full-day workshop you will work through all the stages of a values-based recruitment process that you can take back to work and start applying straight away.
To give you an idea of what you'll learn, these are the main topics:
1. Identifying values
2. Authenticity
Creating advertising material that speaks to values
A person-centred outlook
Selecting successful candidates together
3. Developing recruitment days
4. Commitment to co-production
What you’ll get out of both programs:
• A range of tools, practices and resources that you can start applying the next day
• Practical advice on what to do, where to start and who to involve
• Experiences from people struggling with the same issues as you do
Who should attend:
• People who have heard enough stories and want to get into the practical bits
• HR, recruitment and hiring managers who are ready to become employers of choice
• Everyone curious about purpose-driven practices for their team or advisory work
• Everyone who feels there must be a better way to deliver services and work together
• People ready to be part of a movement that focuses on doing things differently
Location
International House, 241 Royal Parade, Parkville, a short walk from Royal Park Station, trams and buses. Limited on-street parking nearby and 500+ parking spaces available at Melbourne Zoo.
